SMS News

Students who would like to wrestle this year need to attend a meeting in the gym

today Thursday Oct. 12th at 2:30. The meeting will take about 15 minutes. All

paperwork will be handed out at this time. You must be passing all of your classes

with a "C" average and must be in good standing with the school rules and

policies to be eligible. The season starts on Monday Oct. 23rd and ends on

Saturday Dec. 9th at districts at CD'A High school.

If you are going to attend our home contests you must have your ASB sticker to get in for

free. If not you will have to pay $1.00 at the gate. All students must come in through the

doors where tickets are being taken. It is the policy of the Middle School that once you

are in the contest you are not allowed to leave without permission from the on duty

administration for safety reasons. If you leave the contest you will not be allowed to come

back in the contest. Please make sure you understand the rules of home contests so the

safety and accountability of our students is upheld.

Interested in joining a club at school?  A club that promotes kids to lead a happy, healthy, and drug free

life?  Idaho Drug Free Youth (IDFY) might be the club for you.  IDFY focuses on the positives and avoids

preaching the negatives.  We transcend the typical “drug prevention” programs, and put our efforts

towards helping youth embrace a healthy lifestyle – one where they are full of confidence, inspiration, and

acceptance.  Our mission is to “empower youth to lead happy and healthy lives.”  IDFY will meet in Mrs.

Sparks’ office once, every other week and sometimes once a week.  Listen to daily bulletin for

weekly/biweekly meeting times.  Permission slips are required before attending meetings, and these slips can

be found on the table outside the office.  The first meeting will be Today October 12th during lunch.

 Hope to see you there!

FROM THE LIBRARY:  SMS students have been awesome about returning and renewing books!  Please

remember to check your due date.   If you have a late book, please bring it to the library as soon as possible.

Please talk to Mrs. Curtiss if you have any questions.

Yearbooks are on sale for $25.00.

Coats 4 Kids - SMS has a collection box in the hall by the Counseling center - drop off your

new or gently used coat, winter hats, scarves, gloves, mittens or boots before October 27th

DO NOT bring dogs or any pets into the gym area or school without permission.  Some of our students and

faculty are allergic to pet dander.  Please check with the Principal for any modifications to this policy.
